At Kitchenfinder, we know that smart kitchen tech should be intuitive, safe—and flexible. If you’ve got a BORA Pure cooktop, you already understand the power of seamless design and advanced performance. But sometimes, features meant to protect—like the child safety lock—can stand in the way of your cooking flow.
Don’t worry: we’re here to guide you through safely and easily disabling the child lock, whether for a single cooking session or permanently.
Why the Child Lock Exists—and When You Might Want It Off
The BORA Pure’s child safety lock is built for one reason: safety. It’s designed to prevent accidental activation or changes to your cooktop—especially important in homes with young children.
When the lock is active, you’ll see a small padlock icon glowing on the touch display. It means the controls are locked and secure. But if you’re home alone whipping up dinner or just need quick access to your settings, you may want to disable the feature temporarily—or even switch it off altogether.

Here’s how.
How to Turn Off the Child Lock on Your BORA Pure Cooktop
Option 1: Quick Unlock for a Single Use
Need to unlock the cooktop just once? Here’s the fast track:
- Press and hold the padlock symbol on the touch display.
- Once prompted, swipe your finger along the slider—the long dashed line in the center.
That’s it! The lock is now temporarily disabled for this cooking session. Afterward, it’ll automatically reactivate to keep things safe.
Option 2: Permanently Disable the Child Lock
Want the lock off for good? You can do that too:
- Press and hold the menu icon—that’s the “0” in the top center of the display. After a few seconds, the “0” will change to a quotation mark.
- Tap once on the “1” that appears until it turns into a “2.”
- Tap the lower button on the display to confirm deactivation.
If done correctly, the screen should show “off”—and just like that, the child lock is permanently turned off. You can now use your BORA Pure with no restrictions.
